The 3 TCF Canada Expression Écrite Tasks

Tâche 1 — Message court (A2–B1 · 60–120 mots · 10 min). Write a short personal message: an email to a friend, a message to a neighbour, an absence notice to your manager, or an enquiry to a service. Focus on clarity and register.

Tâche 2 — Narration / Récit (B1 avancé–B2 avancé · 120–150 mots · 20 min). Recount a past personal experience in a format specified by the prompt — a blog article, an email to a friend, a forum message, a diary entry, or a letter. Focus on narration and past tenses; no argumentation.

Tâche 3 — Texte argumentatif (C1–C2 · 120–180 mots · 30 min). How to Practise with This Tool

Select a task. Click one of the three task cards to choose the type you want to practise. The card highlights and the word-count goal activates automatically.

Get your subject. Click Get a writing subject. A random TCF Canada–style prompt appears. For Tâche 3, you also see Document 1 and Document 2 and the required text structure. Click New subject at any time for a different prompt.

Write your response. Type in the editor. Use the accent toolbar to insert é, è, ê, à, ç and other characters with a single click.

Track your word count. The goal bar shows your progress toward the task word target. Change the goal with the preset chips if needed.
